Electric vehicle lease and financing deals have been notably improving last year. In many ways, it looks like some offers are nearly as good as they were before the pandemic. If you're going to buy or lease an EV (or plug-in hybrid) in 2024, you'll likely be intrigued by what promotions certain manufacturers are advertising.

Almost every leasing and financing deal we've found this month thus far is the same as or better than last month's. As 2024 commences, automakers will continue to release new EVs and ramp up inventory, which could eventually lead to a growing number of even more competitive offers.

Some electric vehicles and PHEVs (we mix both in this story for expediency) are already available with relatively appealing lease deals, small discounts, and/or reasonable financing rates. Some cars are available with a combination of these offers. Not all deals are equally appealing, but we've included them for comparison, and we'll be working to update this list on a monthly basis.

Tesla Model Y

Tesla has dramatically cut its prices last year, making its vehicles more affordable than ever. Moreover, the automaker provides clear information on its website about which cars are eligible for the newly revamped U.S. federal EV tax credit, and how much they should qualify for. This is also the case with some other automakers.

Keep in mind that if you choose to lease instead of buy, you won't have to worry about whether or not your personal tax situation allows you to take advantage of the credit.

When you lease a new car, the tax credit goes to the lender and is often applied against the lease to offer the buyer a discount. Thanks to some recently discovered loopholes, leasing may mean a larger credit for some EVs. Leasing a Tesla Model 3 or Tesla Model Y is now considerably cheaper than ever before. Be sure to go over all the details related to the tax credit before signing any paperwork.

2024 Hyundai Ioniq 6

We also suggest checking out Hyundai, Kia, and Tesla for some of the best EV deals available each month, although Hyundai hasn't yet released its lease offers for 2024. Recently, we've seen very cheap leases (sometimes with $0 down), low APR and reasonable bonus cash. If you need to get into a compelling electric vehicle with the cheapest payment, the Kia Niro EV is one of the best options at this time.

As of January 5th, 2024, Audi, Hyundai, and Porsche, haven't yet released their new vehicle specials. The automakers have told us that their special offers will be announced momentarily, so we will update this list when they become available to us.

Keep in mind that deals aren't available in all markets, and some have specific restrictions, so check with your local dealer for details on what's available in your area. The best deals typically apply to people with excellent credit ratings. Moreover, the best manufacturer-sponsored incentives are often reserved for returning lessees, as well as automaker employees, family, and friends.

Be sure to bookmark this page and check back often as we update deals regularly as new info becomes available.

There are likely additional incentives out there, specific to certain regions or dealerships (if the brands have one.) You just have to take the time and do your homework. Some automakers are still offering deferred payments, even if it's not noted above or on their individual websites.

Also, keep in mind that used EVs are available with reasonable deals as well and that market is finally seeing a notable drop in prices. There's even a new $4,000 federal tax credit that your used EV may qualify for.

If there's a solid EV deal we missed, please share it with us in the comment section below. In the meantime, let us know of any recent deal you took advantage of, and how it all worked out.
